Jamia Ghausia Tajul Uloom Foundation

We are situated in the heart of Patna City at a place called Sheikh Bucha Ka Chauraha. This is in the Patnasadar area, which is one of the oldest and busiest parts of the city. If you know Patna City, you know how narrow the lanes are and how there is always something happening on every corner. Our foundation operates from this busy junction where sounds of the market and the calls from the local mosques are always in the air. The building we use is quite old, like many others in this part of town, but it has a lot of character. We don't have air conditioning or modern glass windows, just the regular shutters and fans that keep the air moving. People from all over the neighborhood stop by the chauraha, so we get a lot of foot traffic. We spend our days managing the foundation’s tasks and talking to the locals who come in with various needs. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't use much technology besides a few basic phones and a lot of notebooks. Everything is written down and kept in folders. It’s a bit messy sometimes but we know where everything is. We are just part of the daily rhythm of life here in Patna City. We’ve been here a long time and the people know us well.
