Helpus Shine Foundation

You can find us in Patliputra, over at Indrapurkeshri Nagar. We are at number 6/9, staying with Gopi Nath Ambastha. It’s a well-known area in this part of town. The streets are laid out a bit better than some other places, but it still has that local feel. We use a small part of the house for our foundation work. It’s mostly just a couple of us handling things. There are always people walking by and the sound of the neighborhood is always there in the background. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. It’s mostly just calendars and notes we’ve stuck up over time. It’s a very lived-in space. We like it that way because it doesn’t feel cold or like a hospital. People feel okay just sitting down and telling us what’s on their mind. Sometimes we have to move some chairs around if more than two people show up at once. It’s a bit of a squeeze but we make it work. Patliputra is a good place to be located. Everything we need is pretty close by. We don't spend money on big advertising or anything. Most people find out about us just by asking around the neighborhood or seeing the address. It’s simple and it’s how we like to run things. We just show up and do what we can every day without trying to be something we are not.
