Hazi Abdul Samad Charitable Foundation

Our office is in the village of Karpalia, specifically in the Saidpur Tola area of Goriakothi block in Siwan. We operate out of Seraj Mahmaod’s house. If you know the area, it’s not hard to find us. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. The Hazi Abdul Samad Charitable Foundation isn't run by a big team; it’s just a few local people trying to help out. The village life here is quite peaceful, though things can get busy during the harvest season. We have a small room where we keep all our records and meet with people who come by. We don't use any big slogans or have a shiny website. Most of our work is done face-to-face. We sit on the veranda often when the weather is nice to talk about what needs to be done next. It’s a very grounded way of working. Sometimes we have to travel to other parts of Siwan for work, but Karpalia is our home base. We keep things running on a very small budget. There’s no corporate structure here, just us trying to stay organized. We use a lot of local knowledge to get things done. It feels natural to be working in the same place where we grew up. We just try to be useful to the people living around us without making a big fuss about it. It is just how things are done here in the village.
