Out here in Kumarkhand, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Bhuvneshwary Social Welfare And is based at Jitendra Yadav’s place in Siripur Milik, which is part of the Panch Tegraha Sikiyaha area. It’s a rural spot, so we see a lot of farming folks every day. Life in the village has its own set of challenges, and that’s why we started this foundation. We don’t have a website or a big sign, mostly just people telling each other about us. If someone has trouble with their documents or needs help with a local issue, they come to see Jitendra. We sit on the porch or in the small room he’s set aside for this. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. Sometimes we have to travel quite a bit on dusty roads to reach people in the further parts of the block. It’s hard work, and the weather doesn't always help, especially when it rains. But we like living here and we like the people. We aren't doing this for a profit; it’s more about making sure our village doesn't get left behind. We use what we have, even if it’s just a few old ledgers and a lot of patience. It’s a local effort, through and through, run by people who actually live on this land and know the soil. We don't need fancy offices to care for our community.
