Bhumihar Mahila Samaj Foundation

Our foundation is located in Flat Number 101 at the Sai Carnation Apartment. It’s right on the Kankarbagh Main Road, which is a very busy part of town. You can hear the cars and horns all day long from our front window. Bhumihar Mahila Samaj Foundation is run by a group of women who wanted a dedicated space to meet and work. The apartment isn't huge, but it has enough room for us to sit down and discuss our projects. We have a couple of desks and some chairs pushed against the walls. Usually, there is a lot of talking going on because we have people coming in and out quite often. We handle a lot of social stuff for women in the area. It’s not a formal corporate office; it feels more like someone’s living room where work happens to get done. We make our own tea and usually have some snacks around. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the dining table, but we eventually get through it. We’ve been in Kankarbagh for a bit now, and we like being so close to the main road because it makes it easy for people to find us. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who care about what we do. It’s a bit messy at times, but we manage just fine. We always keep the door unlocked during the day so anyone can pop in.
