Bhojpur Foundation

Bhojpur Foundation is located right on Boring Road in Patna, on the ground floor of Ashni Bhawan. If you know Patna, you know how crowded and loud Boring Road gets with all the shops and students. Sri Birendra Kumar Singh runs things here, and he’s usually at his desk early in the morning. Our office isn’t much to look at, just some chairs and a lot of papers piled up, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who come in from the Bhojpur area or other parts of the city. Since we are on the ground floor, it’s easy for people to just walk in and ask questions. We help out with different things, mostly social stuff that comes up in daily life. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there with the windows open, waiting for it to come back while we chat. It isn't a corporate setup. We don’t have a receptionist in a suit. Most of the time, it’s just a couple of us trying to sort through requests and see who needs help first. We’ve been here for a while now, and the neighbors all know us. It’s a practical way to spend the day, really. We try to keep things simple and honest. No one here is looking for fame; we just want to get the work done and go home to our families in the evening. It is just the way we like to work.
