We are based in the Jhajha block, specifically in the village of Hathta, within the Hataia Tola area. Our setup is at Anil Ku Singh’s place. It is a very traditional village setting. Most people around here are farmers or small shopkeepers. We do not have a corporate office with cubicles. Instead, we have a couple of rooms in Anil’s house where we keep the books and meet with parents or local teachers. Hathta is a place where you can hear the cows and the birds all day long. It is a good environment for focusing on children’s development, which is what we try to help with. We do not have a lot of funding, so we keep things very basic. We use recycled paper for notes and try to keep our expenses low. Anil Ku Singh is usually there to greet anyone who stops by. We are not trying to be a massive organization; we just want to help the kids in our specific Tola and the surrounding parts of the Hathta panchayat. Sometimes it is hard to get supplies delivered all the way out here to Jhajha, but we make do with what we can find locally. It is not a polished operation, just some local people who care about the village kids and want to see them do well. We just take it one day at a time and do what is needed.
