Manikyadevi Fish Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Bhairi Pali, specifically at Laxmi Narayan Panda’s place. It is in the Thana Jaipatna area. Unlike a lot of the other groups you might see around here that mostly focus on growing crops in the fields, we are mainly about fish. We have got several people involved who manage their own ponds and deal with the local fish trade. It is a bit of a different lifestyle than farming the land, but it still takes a whole lot of effort and very early mornings. We use Khata No. 450 as our main point for gathering and keeping our records in order. Being a fish producer company means we have to try and coordinate when we harvest the fish and how we get them to the local markets while they are still fresh enough to sell. It is a messy and wet job most of the time, but it is what we know how to do. Laxmi Narayan helps keep the books and everything else organized so we do not lose track of who is doing what or where the money is going. We are not a big corporation at all, just some local guys who really know their way around a fish pond. We talk about things like the price of fish feed and the water levels in the ponds quite a bit during our meetings. It is all very straightforward and honest work for us. That is just how we do things in Bhairi Pali.
