Kejad is where you can find us, mostly through Ramalal Mina. He has been around here a long time and knows the land like the back of his hand. Our company is called Chawand Mata Farmers Producer Company Limited as a mark of respect to our local traditions and the deity we follow in this area. We are a group of farmers who finally decided it was time to join hands and work together. Being a small farmer is very tough when you try to do every single thing by yourself. You have to buy seeds, look after the crops in the sun, and then try to find someone to buy them at a price that doesn't leave you with nothing. By forming this company, we share that heavy load. It’s not a corporate thing with polished floors. It’s just us, the local farmers from around the Valaji Minamayar area. We meet up and talk about the rain and the local markets. Sometimes we sit under a big tree or at Ramalal’s place to figure out our plans for the next harvest. The language we use is just the everyday talk we use with our families. We don’t have fancy brochures or websites to show off. Our work is mostly done in the dirt and the heat. We grow what the land allows us to grow. Rajasthan soil can be stubborn and dry, but we have lived here our whole lives and know how to work it. It’s just how things are.
