Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Granites

Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Granites is located out at Martur on the Rajuplem Donka Road. We are at Pl.No.45/1, which is a big plot in the Prakasam District. This area is quite dry and dusty, which is normal for a place that deals with so much stone. We have rows and rows of granite blocks and finished slabs sitting out in the open. The wind blows the red dust around everything, including the small shed we use for an office. Most of our day is spent talking to drivers and checking the quality of the blocks coming in. It’s a lot of manual labor and the sun is really strong out here on the road. We don't have any polished showrooms or air-conditioned rooms for people to sit in. If you come by, you'll probably find us wearing old clothes and covered in grit. We just keep a simple record of what goes in and what goes out. The road can be rough for the heavy lorries, especially during the monsoon season when things get bogged down. We’ve been working this land for a while now and we don’t try to make it sound like something it isn’t. It’s just a granite yard in a dusty part of the district where we work hard and hope the machines don't break down. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
