Sree Gangaa Bhavani Granites

Our place is at Plot No. 7A in the Industrial Estate right on Kurnool Road. It is an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines and trucks going by. We work with granite all day long. We take the big blocks and get them ready for whatever project someone is working on. It is loud and wet work because of the saws, but it is what we do. The sun gets pretty hot out here on Kurnool Road, especially in the afternoons. We have a small crew and we all know our roles. Some handle the cutting while others help with the loading. We see a lot of lorries coming in and out of the estate. It isn't a place for fancy clothes or clean shoes. Most days we are covered in slurry by noon. We’ve been operating out of this plot for quite a while now. Neighbors in the other plots are mostly doing similar things, so we all know each other. When a customer comes in, we just walk them through the rows of granite and let them pick what they like. There is no pressure. We just show them what is available and tell them when it can be ready. It is a straightforward way to make a living and we have stuck with it because we know the stone well. We keep the gates open and just keep working through the heat.
