Alliance Granites

We've been over here in L. S P Colony for quite some time now. It’s mostly just a lot of heavy lifting and moving stone from one side of the yard to the other. People usually find us because they’re looking for a slab for a kitchen or maybe a floor, and we just show them what’s sitting out there. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, making the granite hot to the touch. We don't have a fancy front office with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just us, the slabs, and a couple of guys who know how to handle the crane. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, especially when we are moving things around, but that’s just how it goes in this business. Most of the folks who come by are local builders or families from nearby who need something sturdy. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork unless we really have to. Most of the day is spent checking the edges of the stone or making sure nothing got chipped during the last delivery. It’s loud near the road and the trucks make a lot of noise when they pull in. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. If you walk through the rows of stone, you’ll see all kinds of colors, some we’ve had for a while and some that just arrived yesterday. It’s not a glamorous job by any means, but it keeps us busy.
