Sohan Di Hatti

Sohan Di Hatti is a small shop, number 5/V, in the Begum Zaidi Market. We are located in Moti Bagh, which is a place that feels very familiar to us. The market has been around for a long time and everyone knows everyone else. Our shop isn't huge, but it's got everything we need to run our daily business. We’ve been here at Sohan Di Hatti for quite a while now. The name is old-fashioned, and so is the way we run things. We like the personal touch. Every morning we sweep the front of the shop and set out a few things. The Begum Zaidi Market has a specific rhythm to it. It’s slow in the morning and picks up in the afternoon when the local residents come out for their shopping. We get a lot of people who have lived in Moti Bagh for decades. They stop by not just to buy things but to say hello. It can get a bit cramped inside when more than three people are standing there, but we make it work. We don't have any flashy signs or bright lights. It’s just a regular market shop with a door that squeaks a little. We like the community feel here. It’s not like those big malls. Here, you know your neighbors and you know the people who walk through the door. That's just how we like it at Shop 5/V.
