Ghantewala Sweet Shop

Ghantewala Sweet Shop is located at 1862-A on the main road of Chandni Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how busy and packed the streets are at all hours. Our shop has been here for generations, and not much has changed over the years. We still make our sweets the old-fashioned way in the kitchen at the back. Every morning, we start early to prepare fresh batches of laddoos, halwa, and other traditional items. The smell of frying ghee and boiling sugar fills the air around our entrance. The shop itself is quite small and the glass counters are a bit scratched from years of use. We don't have any modern displays or digital menus. People just look at what we have made for the day and tell us how much they want. We wrap everything up in simple cardboard boxes and tie them with string. It is a very traditional way of doing things, but it is what we know. Sometimes it gets incredibly hot and crowded inside the shop, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants sweets. We don't do any big advertising or have a fancy website. The local people and the tourists who wander through Chandni Chowk just find us. We just focus on making the sweets every day and keeping the shop running. It is hard work and the hours are long, but it is a part of our family history in this neighborhood.
