Neelkanth Family Restaurant

We are located at Plot No 57 in Mukteshwar, right in the Kasiyalekh area. Living up here in the Kumaon hills is different because the weather changes so fast. Most days, we open up early to get the kitchen ready before the tourists start moving around Nainital. It gets quite cold, so we spend a lot of time making sure there is enough hot tea and wood for the fires. The building isn't fancy, just a regular spot where families can sit down and eat something warm after a long drive on these winding roads. We have been here for a while now. You can see the mountains clearly on some days, but other times the clouds just sit right outside the windows. Our staff lives nearby, so they walk to work even when it rains. We don't have a big fancy menu, just the things people usually ask for when they are traveling with kids. Sometimes it gets really crowded on weekends, and we have to move tables around to fit everyone in. It’s a lot of work keeping things clean with all the mud people bring in from the trails. We just keep doing our thing every day, making sure the food is ready and the lights are on for anyone passing through this part of the hills. It’s a quiet life most of the time except for the lunch rush and the noisy monkeys outside.
