Vyas Moortiwala & Co.

You can find Vyas Moortiwala & Co. over at 574 Squatters Colony, right near the East-West Flyover in Malad East. This is a place where we spend our time working on statues and traditional items. It is a workshop more than anything else. There is always dust in the air and the floor is usually covered in stone chips or clay. It is a noisy area because of the flyover nearby but we don’t mind it much anymore. We’ve been in Malad East for a long time and the locals know where to find us if they need something for a temple or their home. We don't have a shiny showroom or any fancy displays. We just have the workshop where the work actually happens. Our hands are usually dirty from the materials we use. We don't have a big team of workers, just a few people who have been doing this for years. We take our time with each piece because that is just how it has to be done to get it right. Some days the heat in the workshop is quite a lot, but we keep going. We don’t use any fancy marketing tricks or advertisements. People usually hear about us from their neighbors or just see us working when they walk by on the street. It is a very basic setup but it works for us. We just focus on the task in front of us and try to do a decent job.
