Aabir Art Gallery

Down here at Union Park in Bandra West you will find Aabir Art Gallery tucked away at number ten. It is a quiet spot most days which is nice because it gives people a chance to actually look at things without a crowd pushing them along. We have been in this neighborhood for some time and we see a lot of regular faces walking by with their dogs or heading to the nearby shops. The gallery isn't one of those cold white boxes where you feel like you can't breathe or touch anything. We like to keep it a bit more relaxed. The walls usually have something new on them every few weeks because things move in and out. We spend a lot of time unpacking crates and figuring out where a particular frame looks right. Sometimes the lighting isn't perfect or we are still painting a wall from the last show but that is just part of the daily routine here. People pop in just to say hello or ask about a specific artist they heard about. We try to keep things grounded and not too complicated. Bandra has changed a lot over the years but this corner feels like it stays the same in a good way. It is just a place where art sits on the walls and people can come in and see it whenever they are passing through the park area. We like the quiet afternoons here.
