Balakrishnan Photography

We have our little studio set up in Vile Parle, right near the Bamanwada area. It’s not a huge space, but we have enough room for the backdrops and the lights we use for portraits. Most of the time, the place is a bit of a mess with camera bags, tripods, and loose cables lying around the floor. Photography has changed a lot since we first started out, especially with everything going digital, but the core of it stays the same for us. We spend a lot of our weekends out at weddings or local events, carrying heavy gear and trying to stay out of the way while getting the shots. Back at the studio, there is a lot of sitting in front of the computer screen, going through hundreds of images to see which ones turned out okay. We don't do anything too fancy or over-the-top. We just try to capture things as they look in real life. Sometimes the lighting in a hall is terrible or the weather doesn't cooperate, and we just have to deal with it. People come to us when they need a simple passport photo or a family picture to hang on their wall. It is a quiet kind of work most days, punctuated by the flash of the strobe lights and the clicking of the shutters. We keep the printers running in the back to get the physical copies ready for the customers to pick up later.
