Ajit Photography

My studio, Ajit Photography, is based in the Jai Nav Shakti Housing Society over in Nehru Nagar. We are right in the Kanjur Marg area, quite close to the Sai Mandir. It is a small room where I keep all my cameras, tripods, and lights. I’ve been taking photos for years now. Most of the time, I’m out at weddings or family functions in the neighborhood. When I’m not out, I’m here at the desk editing pictures or talking to people about their upcoming events. The studio has a few backdrops hanging up, though they are a bit worn at the edges. I don’t believe in those overly edited photos that look fake. I just try to capture how things actually look. People come in for passport photos too, which only takes a few minutes. It can get a bit cramped when a whole family shows up for a portrait, but we manage to fit everyone in. My camera bag is always packed and ready by the door. I don't have a big team or a fancy office manager. I handle the bookings myself on a paper calendar. It’s a local business through and through. I know most of the families around Nehru Nagar because I’ve probably photographed their kids’ birthdays or weddings. I just like taking pictures and making sure people have a decent memory to hang on their wall. It’s simple work, and I’m glad to be doing it here.
