Vaicharik Kranti Foundation

Vaicharik Kranti Foundation is located right in the heart of the Koliwada area in Ghansoli. If you are looking for us, we are at house number 1320, which is very close to the Mari Aai Mandir. It’s a very traditional neighborhood in Navi Mumbai, and the streets can be a bit narrow and confusing if you aren't from around here. We like it though. It’s where we grew up and where we feel we belong. The foundation isn't some big NGO with a huge budget. It’s mostly just us, a few friends and neighbors, trying to bring about some small changes in how things are done locally. We spend a lot of time talking to the elders in the Koliwada and listening to what they think. The name sounds a bit serious, but we’re actually quite relaxed. We meet on the porch or inside the main room, usually with some tea. There’s always someone coming or going. We don’t have a set schedule really, we just work when there is work to be done. Sometimes we are out in the sun all day, other times we are just filling out forms for someone who can’t read the small print. It’s just about being there for the people in Ghansoli and Thane. No big promises, just showing up every day and trying to be helpful to the folks living right next door to us.
