International Human Rights Council

We are located at No. 154 Raj Chambers. It’s on Alibhai Premji Marg, right down by Grant Road and not far from the old Minerva Theater. That area is always crowded, but we like being in the middle of it all. The International Human Rights Council might sound like a big name, but we’re just a group of people working out of a modest office. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in with concerns. It’s been our home for a while. The building isn't the newest, but it gets the job done. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. Most of our furniture is a bit worn out from use. We listen to people’s stories and try to figure out how to help them out. Every day brings something different. Some days are long, and we stay late to finish up paperwork. We aren't interested in looking polished or corporate. We just want to be reachable for anyone in the city who needs us. If you’re near the theater, you can just walk over. It’s a plain office, but there’s usually someone there who can sit down and talk for a bit. We just keep at it, trying to be a decent place for people to come when they have nowhere else to go.
