Aastha Foundation

You can find Aastha Foundation on the first floor of Mumbadevi Mansion. We are in Shop Number 5. The building is located at 21/23 Dhanji Street, which is very close to the Mumbadevi Temple. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded and loud this area can be. There are people everywhere and the streets are narrow. Our shop is small, but we have managed to fit everything we need inside. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s worth it to get away from the street noise for a bit. We spend our days tucked away here, working on our projects. Because we are near the temple, there is a constant flow of people outside. We see the flower sellers and the devotees every morning when we arrive. Our office is mostly just a few chairs, a computer that’s a bit slow, and plenty of files. We don't have a big budget for decorating, so the walls are just plain. We do our work, talk to the people who come in, and try to keep things moving. It gets very humid in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open. We are just a small group of people trying to do something useful in this busy part of the city. We have been in this mansion for a while now and the neighbors in the other shops are like family to us. We just keep working away in our little corner of Mumbai.
