Asmita Bahudheshiya Mahila Vikas Sanstha

Our group, Asmita Bahudheshiya Mahila Vikas Sanstha, is based right here in Vikhroli East. We are located at Salu dsouza chawl, which is part of Hariyali village in Tagore Nagar. If you know group number 3, you can find us pretty easily. It’s a typical local spot where everyone knows each other’s business. Many years have been spent working out of this small space. The office isn't anything special, just a room where we get things done for the women in our community. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a few people show up at once. Paint on the walls is getting old, but fixing that isn't really a priority for us right now. Most of the time is taken up by daily tasks and helping folks who walk through the door. Vikhroli is a busy place, and Tagore Nagar has its own rhythm that we try to follow. Outside, there is a lot of noise from the street, but you get used to it after a while. No fancy signs or big posters are needed here. Just a small board tells people they’ve reached the right place. Our files stay in old metal cupboards. It’s just us, working away in the chawl, trying to make things a little better for the ladies here. This is honest work and there is no need to make it sound like more than it is. We appreciate the neighbors who look out for the office.
