Upadesh Vatika Foundation

You can find the Upadesh Vatika Foundation over at Amar Baug in Mumbai. We are in Bungalow number 2, which is tucked away in Panjab Wadi. It is right across from the Vijay Panjab Hotel, so if you are looking for us, that is the best landmark to use. The bungalow is an older building, and it has its quirks, like a door that sticks in the monsoon and some uneven floor tiles. We haven't spent much on decorating. It is mostly just functional space with some sturdy tables and a few filing cabinets. Mumbai is always moving fast, and the street noise definitely makes its way inside. We have a small team of people who come in every day. Most of us live quite far away, so the morning is spent recovering from the local train commute with a strong cup of chai. We don't have a big polished lobby or anything. It's just a front room where we meet people and a back room where the computers are. The garden out front has some wild bushes and a few stray cats that hang around. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy brochures. We just do the work that comes our way. It’s a bit dusty and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it’s a good place to work. We like the feeling of being in a real neighborhood rather than a glass tower. It keeps us grounded in what we are doing.
