U Turn- The Lounge

Our place is over at 12-A on the 3rd Road, right off Guru Gobind Singh Marg in Khar. It’s a corner of the neighborhood that stays pretty active throughout the day. We spend our mornings mostly doing prep work and getting the lounge ready for the evening. There’s a lot of dusting to do and we have to make sure all the chairs are in the right spots. The furniture is comfortable but it's seen some use over the years. We don't have a fancy designer look. It’s just a place where people can come and sit for a while. We have some windows that look out onto the street, so we can see the traffic and the people walking by. It gets a bit dark inside even during the day, which helps keep the temperature down. We don't have a big corporate team. It's just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. We handle everything ourselves, from taking out the trash to fixing the plumbing when it acts up. Khar is a good place to be, and we've seen a lot of businesses come and go on this road. We’re glad to still be here. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just open the doors and hope people have a decent time when they visit. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. We just take things one day at a time here.
