Samuel Street 757 is a busy spot in Khar West, and that’s where we’ve been parked for a while now. The Irish Pub isn’t exactly what you’d see in a movie. It’s a bit dark inside, and the wooden tables have plenty of scratches from years of glasses being slid across them. We don't do much for flashy lighting. Usually, it’s just one bulb flickering over the bar and whatever light comes in from the street. When the monsoon hits, the sound of rain on the roof is louder than the music sometimes. We’ve got a regular crowd. You see the same faces every Friday, mostly people looking to forget about their boss for a couple of hours. The fridge makes a bit of a humming noise that you stop noticing after ten minutes. I spend a lot of time wiping down the counters and making sure we haven't run out of clean coasters. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a dress code or any of that nonsense. You can come in wearing your slippers for all we care. Sometimes the TV in the corner acts up during the football matches, and we have to give it a good tap to get the picture back. It's just a place to sit and have a drink. No one is trying to impress anyone else here. We keep the drinks cold and the floors swept, mostly.
