Laughter Club

Laughter Club is located over in Bandra West, specifically around Gandhi Bazar on M N Road. It’s a lively part of the city to be in, that’s for sure. There is always music playing somewhere nearby or the sound of rickshaws zooming past the front. Our space is pretty basic. We have some open areas where people can gather and just a few pieces of furniture that have seen better days. We don't put on any acts or try to look like a big fancy establishment. It is just a place for people to come together. Some days it is really packed and everyone is talking at once, while other days it might just be a couple of people sitting quietly in the corner. We keep the doors open to let some air in, though that also lets in the dust from M N Road. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure the lights are working. It’s not a corporate setup at all. Most of the people who come here are from the surrounding blocks in Bandra. We know most of them by name. We don't have any big goals other than just being here for the neighborhood. Sometimes we run out of tea or the fan starts to squeak, but we just fix it and keep going. It is a comfortable spot for everyone who stops by Gandhi Bazar.
