Sutra

Sutra is located over in Andheri East, right in the Lokmanya Nagar area. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of apartments and small offices tucked away in different buildings. We started this place because we wanted something to do in our own locality. The name sounds a bit serious, but we’re actually pretty laid back here. Most mornings involve checking the supplies and making sure the furniture is wiped down. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but people still find their way to us. The lighting inside is just normal bulbs, nothing too bright or too dim. We’ve had the same few people working here since we opened. Sometimes the sink leaks or the door squeaks, and we just fix it when we have a spare minute. It’s not a corporate chain, so things are a bit more personal. We know many of the customers by their first names or at least by what they usually order. Andheri East can be a bit overwhelming with the traffic and the noise, so we try to keep the atmosphere inside relatively quiet, though it’s hard when the lunchtime rush hits. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just open the shutters every morning and see how the day goes. It’s a practical way to run a business, and it seems to work for us and the people in Lokmanya Nagar.
