Time Art Showroom

Time Art Showroom is over on Dr Ambedkar Road in Dadar East. We are in the Vincent View building, at number 6. If you know Dadar, you know the traffic can be a real headache right outside our door. There’s always a bus or a truck making noise, but inside the shop, it’s mostly just the sound of the clocks. We’ve been here for a good while, watching the flyover get built and the shops around us change names. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped, especially when we have more than two people inside at once. I usually spend my morning cleaning the glass because the road dust is never-ending. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit and do most of the repairs. My hands are usually a bit stained from the oil, but that’s part of the job. We don’t have any fancy lights or anything. We just use the natural light from the front door as long as we can. When the sun goes down, we turn on the old tube lights that flicker a bit. It’s a simple setup, but it’s been working for us for years. People stop by on their way to the station or after shopping at the market. It’s a busy life in Dadar, and we just try to keep up with it.
