The Oriental Aluminium Store

The Oriental Aluminium Store is tucked away in Kalbadevi, specifically at Dhobi Talao Lane 5, near Marine Lane. This part of the city is incredibly crowded and the lanes are very narrow. We’ve been here for a long time, dealing with all kinds of aluminium products. It’s a busy atmosphere with people shouting and carts moving past our door all day. Our shop at Lane 5 isn't very spacious, so we have to be very clever with how we store our inventory. It’s a lot of climbing and shifting things around. We don't have a corporate vibe at all. It’s just a local store where we do our best to keep things running. Kalbadevi is a historic area, and you can feel that in the old buildings and the way business is done here. We don't do any promotional stuff or try to sound better than we are. We’re just a regular shop selling aluminium. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is wonky, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. But we focus on the work instead. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and checking what needs to be delivered. It can be stressful when the lanes get blocked by delivery trucks, but that’s just life in this part of town. We’ve stayed here because it’s where we belong. It’s simple, honest work in a very busy neighborhood.
