Swastik Art is tucked away in the Seksaria Industrial Estate over in Malad West. If you know the area, it’s pretty industrial, lots of workshops and noise. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time. Our space isn't huge, but it's enough for what we need to do. We spend most of our days working with different materials and trying to get the details right. It’s dusty work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. There’s no big corporate board here, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. Malad is a busy place to be, and getting in and out of the estate can be a bit of a headache during rush hour. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or shiny signs. Most of our work comes from people who heard about us from someone else. It’s more about the actual stuff we make than trying to look important. Sometimes we stay late when a project is taking longer than we thought. The tea stall around the corner is where we take our breaks. It’s a basic setup, really. We just focus on the pieces in front of us and try to make sure they’re done properly before they head out the door. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Even if it gets stressful, we just take it one day at a time.
