Standly Frances Disouza

I've been working out of this spot in Jogeshwari East for more years than I can really count. Laxmi Wadi is one of those places where everyone knows everyone else’s business, for better or worse. My name is on the door, Standly Frances Disouza, and that’s pretty much all there is to it. I usually get here early before the sun gets too high over Anand Nagar because the heat can be something else once it starts hitting the walls. The office isn't much to look at, just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of papers that seem to grow in piles when I’m not looking. Sometimes the neighbors from Shyam Nagar stop by just to chat or ask for help with something small. It gets noisy with the traffic and the kids playing outside, but you get used to it after a while. I don't have a big staff or some fancy computer system that does everything. It’s just me and a couple of guys making sure things get done. We don't do anything flashy here. Most of the day is just spent talking on the phone or writing stuff down in the ledger. It’s a bit old-fashioned I guess, but it works for us and the people who come to see us. I like being in this part of town even if the roads are a mess when it rains. It feels like home now and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
