About S.R.Open Library Project Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Mumbai
We are located in Prabhadevi, right on the ground floor of the Akanksha Building. Our spot is Shop C/15. It’s on Veer Nariman Road, not far from the Bengal Chemical landmark. If you know Mumbai, Prabhadevi is a pretty central and active place to be. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to stop by. We named the place after Satyajit Roy, and it’s where S.R.Open Library Project Foundation does its work. It’s not a huge space, but it’s enough for what we need. Since we are a library project, we have plenty of shelves and books around. The shop isn't fancy. It’s just a regular commercial space that we’ve turned into our headquarters. We spend a lot of time here organizing and managing things. The 400025 area is always busy, with people walking by all day long. Sometimes the street noise from Veer Nariman Road can be a lot, but we’ve gotten used to it. We don't have a big corporate budget for advertising or polished interiors. We just have our books and a few tables. It’s an honest, simple setup. We like being accessible to the public on the ground floor. It feels more open that way. No one has to go through a lobby or take an elevator. You just walk in from the street. It’s a practical, local space for people who care about what we’re doing without any extra frills or corporate nonsense. We’ve been at this for a bit now, and we’re happy to be part of the Prabhadevi scene.
