Soi Foundation

Soi Foundation is located at 4A, on the fourth floor of Hari Bhavan. This is at 64, Dr. Gopalrao Deshmukh Marg in Cumballa Hill, Mumbai. It is an old part of the city. The building has that classic Mumbai feel to it. The stairs are stone and the lift is one of those old ones with the collapsible gates. We have a small office here that has been around for a while. It has got high ceilings and large windows that let in a lot of light. You can hear the traffic from the road below, but it is more of a hum. Cumballa Hill is a nice area, though parking is a nightmare. Most of us take the bus or a taxi to get here. Inside, it is mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of old cupboards. We have a small area where we keep the kettle for tea. The walls are a bit yellowed from age. It is a very quiet place for the most part. We do not have many visitors, but when we do, we usually sit around the main table. It is an honest sort of space. We do not try to look more important than we are. We just come in, do what is on the list for the day, and then head home. Mumbai life is fast, but inside Hari Bhavan, things feel a little slower. It is a good place to work.
