Signing Hands Foundation

Our foundation is located at 83, Tenerife on Little Gibbs Road. We are right near the Hanging Garden in Malabar Hill, which is one of the nicer, quieter parts of Mumbai. It’s a lovely area to walk around, and we feel lucky to have our space here. The Signing Hands Foundation is run by a small group of us who are really focused on communication. We spend most of our time working with people who use sign language. It’s a very calm office because we don't have phones ringing all the time like other places might. Instead, it’s a lot of visual work and face-to-face meetings. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of character. We have a few rooms where we meet with families and individuals. Sometimes we sit out near the windows where there is good light for seeing each other clearly. We don't have any fancy marketing materials or big banners outside. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they live in the neighborhood. We just want to make sure that everyone has a way to express themselves. It’s simple work, but it takes a lot of patience and time. We are usually here five days a week, just going through our schedules and making sure we are available for anyone who needs to stop by. It’s a good way to spend the day, and it keeps us busy in a meaningful way.
