Shree Jalaram Khaman Mart

Over in the old part of Mulund West you will find Shree Jalaram Khaman Mart. It is a modest little place but we have been serving the people here for quite a while. We specialize in khaman and other snacks that locals like to pick up on their way home or for a quick breakfast. The kitchen is small and it gets very steamy when the big batches of khaman are being prepared. We start early because the morning crowd is always the biggest and they want everything fresh. You will see us cutting the yellow squares and adding the tempering while the steam rises up. It is not a place where you sit down for a long meal. Most people just stand around for a bit or take their parcels and go. We know many of our customers by name and we know exactly what they are going to order before they even say it. That is the nice thing about being in Old Mulund. It feels like a small village sometimes even though the rest of the city is so huge. We don't use any fancy machines to do the work. It is mostly done by hand just like it has always been. The shop might look a bit worn around the edges but the food is what matters to the people who come here every single day. We keep the counters clean and the snacks moving as fast as we can.
