Ankur Stores

Ankur Stores is a small shop located in Dahisar at Diwali Baug 1. We sell various things that people in the neighborhood need. Most of the people who come by are folks we know by name. It is a relatively quiet spot compared to the noise of the main road nearby. We open up early every morning to clean the floor and arrange the items on the shelves. We have been here in Dahisar for a long time. Diwali Baug is a nice area to work in. There is a big tree nearby that gives us some shade in the hot afternoon hours. We sit on small stools when there are not many customers around and just talk about the weather or the news. It is a simple life running a local store. Sometimes kids come in for small things on their way home from school. We have to keep a close eye on the stock so we do not run out of the basics like bread or milk. It is not a big supermarket, just a local place where you can find what you need without a fuss. The lighting inside is not the brightest, but it works for us and we know where everything is even in the shadows. We handle the cash and change manually. We like seeing the same faces every day. When the sun goes down, we start packing things up. There is no big strategy here, just staying open for the neighbors.
