General Store

Our shop is located in the Khatija Bai Building in Surtimohalla. We are near JJ Hospital, which is a big landmark that everyone knows. You have to come up to the second floor, and we are in Room Number 37. It is an old building, the kind with thick walls and narrow stairs that have seen better days. We have been here for quite some time, tucked away in this corner of Mumbai. The area is always crowded and noisy, with people rushing to the hospital or the local markets. Our store is small, and we keep the shelves stocked with whatever people need. It’s a bit of a climb up to the second floor, but folks around here don't seem to mind. We spend most of the day counting stock and helping whoever walks through the door. It’s not a fancy supermarket; it’s just a room filled with goods. We know most of our customers by name since they live in the same building or just down the street. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we get a new delivery, and we have to stack boxes in the corners. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. It’s a simple life, running a store in an old Mumbai building. We just keep the books and make sure we have what people want. It is a lot of work but it's okay for us.
