Sunil Stores

Sunil Stores has been a part of Sewree for a long time. You can find us at Sector 37 Z/6, which is a spot most of the locals know well. We are just a neighborhood store, the kind of place where people come when they realize they forgot to buy salt or need a new pack of batteries. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of household items. There is not much room to move around once two or three people come inside at the same time. I spend most of my day standing behind the counter or climbing the small ladder to reach things on the top shelves. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we just know where everything is by memory. Sometimes the delivery trucks come late and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow for their favorite brand of soap. It is a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but we try to wipe down the counters when we have a spare minute. We know almost everyone who walks through the door by their name or at least their face. It’s not like those big supermarkets where everything is shiny and cold. Here, the fan makes a bit of noise and we might be chatting with a neighbor about the weather while we bag up their groceries. It is just a normal, everyday business trying to keep the shelves stocked for the people around here.
