We run Cosmos Brands Distributors P Ltd. out of a flat in Shanti Smruti Apartment. We are located on the sixth floor, Flat No.-601, in the 400 072 area of Mumbai. Being in a residential building means it is a bit quieter than being right on the main road, but the traffic in this part of Maharashtra is always something else. The office is basically a converted apartment, so it feels a bit like home, just with more computers and filing cabinets everywhere. You can hear the sounds of the city coming through the windows all day. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking inventory lists on our screens. The lift in the building is a bit small and sometimes it takes forever to come up, especially when we are waiting for a courier. We have desks set up in the main room and the balcony area is mostly used for storing extra stationery or taking a quick break to look at the view. It’s a practical way to work without the high costs of a big commercial plaza. Most of us live nearby, so we don't have to deal with the long train commutes that most Mumbai people do. It’s a small team, and we’ve gotten used to the quirks of working out of an apartment block over the years.
