Shilp Kala Art

Shilp Kala Art is situated at Room 8/173 on the 3rd Floor of J K Bui. We are over in Grant Road, very close to the Nana Chowk Telephone Exchange. To get to us, you have to head up the stairs of the building, which can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to it. The room is filled with all kinds of art supplies and pieces we are working on. It’s not a fancy gallery with white walls and bright lights. Instead, it’s a working space where things might be a little messy with paint or materials scattered around. We spend our hours creating things or helping people who have an interest in art. Being near Nana Chowk means we are in a part of the city that is always moving, but once you are up on the third floor, it gets a little quieter. We do this work because we like it, not because we are trying to build some big brand. People who find us usually come through word of mouth or because they live in the Grant Road area. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. It is just a small room where art happens every day. We’ve been here for a while and the J K Bui has become like a second home to us. Most days we are just busy with our brushes and colors, trying to finish something new.
