Our workshop is over in Shanti Industrial Estate, close to Tambe Nagar in Mulund West. It's tucked away in unit 159, and it’s a bit of a trek to get here through the industrial lanes. Inside, there are frames of all sizes leaning against the walls and the smell of paint is everywhere. We don't have a glitzy gallery; it’s more of a working space where things actually get made. We spend our time stretched over canvases or fixing up old frames that have seen better days. There are brushes in jars and palettes that haven't been cleaned in years. Sometimes the floor is a bit sticky with varnish or glue, but that's part of the process. We work with different artists and people who just want something nice for their living room. It's often noisy because of the other shops in the estate, but we just turn on the radio and keep going. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the materials. Getting the lighting right in here is always a struggle, but we manage. You might find us covered in a bit of dust if we've been sanding down wood for a frame. It’s not always pretty, but we enjoy the work. People find us by word of mouth mostly. We take our time with each piece because rushing usually ruins it. The workspace is cluttered but creative.
