Shaheed Major Rajesh Nair Foundation

Out here in Andheri West, things move pretty fast. Our little spot is in the New Mhada Colony, right near Swami Samarth Nagar. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main roads. We set up the Shaheed Major Rajesh Nair Foundation to keep a name alive and do some good while we’re at it. Mostly, we deal with whatever comes our way. People from the flats nearby come in with all sorts of questions. Maybe they need help with a school form or someone is sick and needs a ride. We don’t have a big fancy website or glossy brochures. We just have a desk and some chairs in Flat 402. It gets a bit crowded when more than three people show up at once. Mumbai life is tough, and we know that. Everyone is rushing. So, we try to be the place where things slow down for a minute. We handle things as they come. No two days look the same. Sometimes we're busy with paperwork, other times we're out talking to the vendors on the street. It’s just how we operate. We’ve been in this building for some time and the neighbors know us. If the light is on, someone is usually there to listen. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little corner of Mumbai. It’s simple work, but it matters to the people living around here.
