We are based at 231 Adarsh Industrial Estate on Sahar Road in Andheri East. Being in Mumbai, it’s always loud and there’s always a lot going on outside our windows. We work in the maritime industry, which basically means a lot of paperwork related to ships and cargo. Our office is in a big industrial building with many other companies. We have desks covered in files and computers that never seem to be off. Most of the day is spent talking to people at the port or checking where a certain container has ended up. It’s not glamorous work, but it keeps the world moving. The elevators in the building are sometimes slow, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp because mistakes in shipping can cause big headaches later. We aren't a huge corporation, just a dedicated team in a busy part of town. The traffic on Sahar Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we often stay a bit late to let it clear out before heading home. We’ve been in this estate for quite some time now and know the security guards and the guys at the tea stall downstairs pretty well. It’s just our daily routine in the heart of Mumbai’s industrial side. We try to keep the desk clutter down, but it usually piles back up by Wednesday.
