About Sarmaya Arts Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Mumbai
We are located up on the sixteenth floor of the Red Spring Mills building in Dadar East. Being at Flat No. 1602 gives us a pretty wide view of the city, which is nice when you need a break from looking at the computer screen. The Dadar area is always busy, especially being so close to the Wadala Telephone Exchange. You can hear the trains and the traffic from down below if you really listen, but up here, it’s a bit more removed from the chaos. Our office is a mix of stuff everywhere. Since we deal with art things, there are often crates or boxes stacked near the entrance. It’s not a polished gallery space; it’s more of a workspace where things actually happen. The hallways in the building are long and a bit dim, but once you step into 1602, there’s plenty of light. We have a small kitchen area where we make way too much coffee every day. Sometimes the elevator takes forever, so we end up chatting with the neighbors while we wait. It’s a typical Mumbai setup—lots of people in a small space trying to get things moving. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big front desk. It's mostly just us in our regular clothes, surrounded by books and papers. The G.D.A. Marg outside is always jammed with cars, so we usually just stay put until the rush hour dies down. It’s our little corner.
