Santosh Rubber Products

Our small shop is located at 301 Malad West, right near the Bombay Theatre Compound. We spend most of our days here working with various rubber materials to make different parts for machines and local workshops. It is not a very fancy place, and the floor often has scraps of rubber lying around. The machines are a bit old and they make a lot of noise, but they still get the job done right. We started this business quite a while ago and most of our staff has been here from the beginning. Malad gets very crowded in the evenings, especially with people going to the theatre, so we usually try to finish our deliveries before the traffic gets too bad. We often have tea together at the small stall around the corner when the heat from the presses gets to be too much. We don't have a big office or anyone to answer the phones with a script. It is just us here making gaskets and washers for people who need them. Most of our customers find us because they know someone we have worked for in the past. The roof leaks a little bit when the monsoon is heavy, but we just move the stock to a dry corner. We are just local people doing our work every day. If you see the big blue gate near the compound, that is where we are.
