S. C. Rubber Works

We are at No. 129 in the Babulal Compound. Our unit is A-19 on Walbhat Road in Goregaon East. If you know Goregaon, you know Walbhat Road is full of small businesses like ours. We work with rubber, making all sorts of small components and parts. The smell of raw rubber is something you get used to after a few days. It’s not a clean job, but it is necessary work. We have presses and molds that we use to shape the rubber into whatever is needed. The compound is always full of people moving stuff around. Our space is packed with raw materials and finished bags of parts. It can get quite hot when the machines are running all day. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the items coming out of the molds. Sometimes they don't set right and we have to start over. It’s just a regular small-scale factory. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just the owner and a few workers doing the daily grind. We have our regulars who come to us for their rubber needs. We don't bother with fancy catalogs or anything. We just show the samples and get to work. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in a busy city like this. We deal with the heat and the smell every day, and we just keep the production line moving along as best we can.
