Sanjay & Falguni Nayar Foundation

Our office is over at Flat No 9 in the Rushilla building. It’s on Carmicheal Road, 17C, right in Cumballa Hill. It’s a quiet residential street with a lot of old trees. We use the apartment as our base for the foundation. It feels more like a home than a workplace most of the time. There are books everywhere and the windows look out onto the street. Sanjay and Falguni wanted a place that wasn't too formal for the staff. We handle all the foundation’s business from the dining table or the small desks we tucked into the corners. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a front desk or a receptionist. If the bell rings, one of us just gets up to answer it. Usually, it’s just the mail or someone we’ve already been talking to for weeks. Working in Cumballa Hill is nice because it’s a bit calmer than the rest of the city. We take our time with things and try to be thorough. We aren't trying to grow into some huge corporation. We just want to manage the projects we have effectively and without too much stress. Sometimes we have meetings over tea in the living room area. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. We’ve been here for a while and the neighbors know us. It’s a straightforward setup for the kind of work we do. We just keep things moving along steadily every single day.
