I work over at Nair Hospital, which is located on Dr. Nair Road in Mumbai Central. If you have been to this part of the city, you already know how massive and busy the hospital grounds can be. My day-to-day work happens right in the middle of all that activity. It is a big public institution, so there is always a crowd and plenty of noise from the sirens and the people moving through the long hallways. I do not have a private, fancy office; it is just a workspace within the hospital walls. The address is 400008, right in the heart of Mumbai Central. Every morning I navigate through the main gates and find my way to where I need to be. The buildings are old and have that very specific hospital smell of disinfectant and medicine. There are long queues almost every single day, and we all just try to keep things moving along as best as we can. It is a very practical and honest environment. We do not spend time on decorations or making things look pretty for a brochure. Our focus is just on the patients who are waiting to be seen. Sometimes the ceiling fans are a bit loud or the paperwork gets a little messy on the desk, but that is just part of working in such a large place. It is a lot of work. (251 words)
