Sangita Jindal Art Foundation

The Sangita Jindal Art Foundation is over at Jindal Mansion on Dr. G Deshmukh Marg in Mumbai. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of history. We work out of 5A, and it is a busy place because Mumbai never stops moving. You can hear the cars and the hum of the city from the windows. We aren't a cold institution. It is more about the art and the people who come through. We spend time organizing things and making sure everything is in its place. The mansion is a beautiful old building, but we use it in a very practical way. It’s where we store things, have meetings, and keep everything running. Working in Mumbai 400026 means we are right in the middle of everything. It can be crowded and loud, but that is just life here. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just look at art and try to keep the foundation going. It’s a lot of manual work, moving frames around or sorting through papers. We have been on Deshmukh Marg for a long time. Even with all the city’s changes, we just keep doing our thing in the same way we always have. The mansion has high ceilings that keep it cooler in the summer, which is good because Mumbai heat is tough. We have stacks of art books everywhere. It’s a working space, not a museum. We are more interested in the actual art and keeping things real.
